The Ocean Spa Lodge – Formerly Saruni Ocean is a luxury eco-design boutique hotel and spa located on the beachfront of the remote and pristine 6km long Msambweni Beach, 20km South of Diani. This area offers an idyllic escape away from the crowds in beautiful thatched villas with unending views of the Indian Ocean.
This unique property is a great choice as a simple beach vacation or is the perfect ending to any safari adventure and appeals to couples, families and groups of friends.
The hotel features a lovely infinity pool and the Sarunity Thermae & Spa brings guests an authentic health and wellness experience centred around thalassotherapy.

Accommodation
The Ocean Spa Lodge accommodates a maximum of just 36 guests in 18 individual, spacious suites which are set within 7 beautifully designed villas.
Each suite has a private entrance and consists of a bedroom, bathroom, living room, verandah and private garden with uninterrupted views of the Ocean and of the beach.
Villa 1 (Coral) & Villa 7 (Jade)
Each villa consists of four independent apartments:
Apartment A: bedroom with walk in wardrobe, bathroom and verandah and a very large garden overlooking the beach;
Apartment B: bedroom, bathroom, living room, 2 verandahs (one in front of bedroom, the other in front of living room), walk in wardrobe;
Apartment C: bedroom, walk in wardrobe, bathroom, verandah;
Apartment D: bedroom, bathroom, a smaller living room; 2 verandahs.
In addition, Villa 1 also has a common living lounge with splendid views of the beach that can be used by all apartments.
Villa 2 (Aqua), Villa 3 (Marine), Villa 4 (Aurora), Villa 5 (Ocra) & Villa 6 (Amber)
Each villa consists of two independent apartments:
Apartment 1 (upper): bedroom, bathroom and walk in wardrobe, living room with great views, a private garden, a portico, a garden and a separate room that can be used as a second bedroom or a separate living room with a separate bathroom;
Apartment 2 (lower): a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room, walk in wardrobe and a large verandah that you can enter from both bedroom and the living room.
Activities
The Ocean Spa Lodge offers a broad range of activities (supplements may apply, payable locally):
- Snorkelling and diving in the famous coral reef of Wasini Island and on the reef in front of the beach
- Big game fishing
- Cultural visits to traditional villages
- Game drives into the Shimba Hills National Reserve – a sanctuary of wildlife such as buffalo, elephant and rare species like the sable antelope
- Visits to nearby Funzi Island with its 4 mangrove covered islands (Kenya’s best nesting site for a variety of sea turtles, such as the green turtle)

The Ocean Spa Lodge’ indulgent Spa (over 2500 sq meters) is a natural retreat located at the edge of the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. The therapies are based on ancient traditional knowledge combined with the latest contemporary techniques and are designed to reinvigorate and purify the body, bring peace to the mind and soothe the spirit.
