The River Club

The River Club is defined by the value attached to lasting memories, genuine hospitality, the historical preservation of Livingstone, Zambia, and commitment to the local community.

Eleven spacious, private suites are individually nestled within the tree line along the edge of the magnificent Zambezi River. From their elevated positions, the suites are perfectly situated to gaze across the river to the Zambezi National Park on the opposite bank, home to an array of wildlife and birds in an area of abundant natural beauty. Renowned for their spectacular views and romantic ambience, each room looks west into the glorious African sunset, best viewed from the privacy of the ball-and-claw bath.

A host of activities await young and old, on property as well as in the nearby area. Located only a short distance from the historical town of Livingstone and renowned Victoria Falls, The River Club is the perfect retreat for families, honeymooners or those looking to complete a safari circuit in Southern or East Africa.

The lodge’s main area is a well-appointed Edwardian house with lounge, dining room, library, shop and veranda on which breakfasts and teas are taken. Midday meals are often served on manicured lawns, complete with a croquet court. The gazebo and the Summer House (with snooker room) are both alternatives for private dining and the infinity pool seems part of the river itself. A secluded deck provides respite and beauty treatments are available in the Wellness Centre. For the energetic, the gymnasium, running trails and all-weather tennis court are perfect.

Activities available including tours of Victoria Falls on the Zambian side, sundowner cruises, tiger fishing, and visiting a nearby village, white water rafting, bungee jumping, abseiling, canoeing, and flights over the Falls. The area is steeped in local history and rich in wildlife; hippo and elephant are seen regularly and birdlife is prolific.
