Kavango Region
Located in North Eastern Namibia is the Kavango region, where the Okavango River flows into Namibia from Angola and carries on into the Okavango Delta in Botswana.

Runda, is the major town of the Kavango region and is home to over 60,000 inhabitants.  This is the port of call for visitors who are self driving for them to stock up on petrol and provisions and also a good stop for an overnight before continuing to the Zambezi region.

 Zambezi Region (Caprivi)
The Zambezi region, formerly known as the Caprivi strip is the narrow strip of waterway & land in the far North East of the country, it is the greenest area of Namibia with prolific bird life and wildlife and is a nature lovers paradise.

In both areas offer an abundance of birdlife, and visitors can embark on the water on river cruises & fishing. Visitors can experience wildlife sightings on the water by boat as well as by the more usual land gamedrives in the dryer months. Visiting this area of Namibia needs some consideration as during the wetter summer months, accessibility can be difficult.
