DAY 1 & 2: WATERBERRY LODGE, LIVINGSTONE
Upon arrival into Livingstone Airport, you will be met and transferred by shared lodge transfer to Waterberry lodge for a two night stay.
Waterberry Lodge is situated on the banks of the Zambezi River about 22 km from Livingstone. The main double-storey lodge area overlooks the Zambezi River and the game park beyond. Upstairs the main lounge is open to the high thatch with plenty of seating and boasts a well-stocked bar and magnificent views. Meals are served in the dining area or alfresco on the sun terrace that overlooks the river.
A floating pontoon gently sways on the Zambezi River, making it the perfect location for sundowners, fishing or just relaxing and enjoying the view. A large and welcoming swimming pool is set in the centre of our landscaped gardens.
In-house activities include a tour of falls, sunset cruise, daytime cruise, fishing, island picnics, guided birding, guided village walk and guided tour of the town and local markets – two of these activities are included per day. (All other activities offered in Livingstone are at an additional expense and can be booked in the lodge).
Livingstone is a historic colonial town most famous for its proximity to the Victoria Falls. The Victoria Falls are one of the Seven Wonders of the World and is the largest sheet of falling water on earth – a spellbinding and mesmerising spectacle.
DAY 3 & 4: CHOBE ELEPHANT CAMP, Chobe / Ngoma
Following breakfast, you will be transferred by shared road transfer to Kasane Airport for an onward lodge transfer to Chobe Elephant Camp (approximately a two hour transfer total) for a two night stay.
Located high on the edge of a rocky ridge overlooking the famous Chobe River is Chobe Elephant Camp. This uniquely designed lodge has been built to take advantage of the incredible views overlooking the sweeping floodplains while offering a comfortable refuge from the harsh African conditions.
With a variety of activities that include viewing the region’s spectacular wildlife from open safari vehicles, by boat on the Chobe River or experiencing life in the village, a visit to Chobe Elephant Camp offers a wide range of experiences to guests.
DAY 5 & 6: SPLASH CAMP, Private Concession Bordering Moremi Game Reserve
Following a morning activity (time permitting) and breakfast you will be transferred to Kasane airport for the onward air transfer to Splash Camp.
Splash Camp is located in the vast Kwara private concession within the heart of the Okavango Delta, alongside the Moremi Game Reserve. This exclusive setting amidst shady trees boasts permanent water and seasonal floodplains together with classic bush wilderness. Twelve tents, two of which are family rooms, are set upon individual decks with spectacular views over a pan which attracts a variety of wildlife. All rooms are en-suite with double basins and indoor-outdoor showers. Simple yet graceful contemporary furnishings enhance the ambience of the camp. Splash Camp’s main area has a lounge, bar, curio shop and plunge pool. Meals are served al fresco in the boma area in front of the camp looking towards the lagoon.
DAY 7 & 8: POM POM CAMP, Okavango Delta
After an early morning activity (time permitting) and breakfast, you will be transferred to Pom Pom Camp by light aircraft for a two night stay.
Pom Pom is located in the heart of the Okavango Delta in a private concession to the west of the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp is classically designed in the style of safari camps of old camp overlooking the lily strewn Pom Pom Lagoon.
Pom Pom Camp offers nine traditional large en-suite Meru-safari-tents, a beautiful dining room, lounge area and bar looking out to the picturesque lagoon. In the evenings you can relax around the open fireplace right at the edge of the lagoon. Pom Pom Camp also has a nicely sized plunge pool to escape the midday heat.
Activities included in this delta paradise are game drives, night drives, walking safaris and mokoro excursions all taken with local expert guides. The tranquillity of the delta and beauty of its winding water ways, open lagoons and tree islands will be a highlight of your safari.
Hippo and crocodile are found in the deeper lagoons and big predators such as lion and leopard, as well as buffalo, giraffe, zebra and wildebeest move through the area.
DAY 9 & 10: NXAI PAN CAMP, Nxai Pan
Following the morning activity (time permitting) and breakfast, you will be transferred to Nxai Pan Camp by light aircraft.
Nxai Pan National Park lies just north of the Maun-Nata road and adjoins Makgadikgadi Pans National Park on its northern border.
Nxai Pan Camp consists of 8 custom-built en-suite rooms. The main area consists of dining room, lounge area and a viewing deck. The camp also offers a swimming pool, library and curio shop.
Nxai Pan is well known for its huge springbok population and once the rains have started, gemsbok, elephant and zebras migrate to the region. These large herds attract many predators – lion, cheetah, jackal and both spotted and the elusive brown hyena, as well as the endangered wild dog and the secretive leopard.
Activities include game drives in open 4×4 vehicles, stargazing, day trips to Baines’ Baobab and nature walks in the vicinity of the camp with the bushman staff. Nxai Pan is a national park, a very ecologically sensitive area, and for this reason no night drives or off road driving is permitted.
DAY 11: SAFARI ENDS IN MAUN
Following the morning activity (time permitting) and breakfast, you will be transferred to Maun by light aircraft for your onward travel arrangements.
