This beautiful footage from Ken Roggow tells the story of the cheetah named Narasha.

Narasha was born in early 2004 and named after a distinctive mark on her right cheek. This made her one of the well-known and much-loved characters in Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve and Olare Motorogi Conservancy where she resided for many years.

Porini Guide Andrew Saruni came across an exciting interaction between African Wild dogs and some elephants while on a game drive with some guests in Tsavo East National Park and captured this video.

These are just some of Ken Roggow ‘s “Best of the Best” video shots he filmed while on a five day safari at Porini Lion Camp in Olare Motorogi Conservancy, Kenya. Ken is a regular guest to Porini Camps and produces some tremendous images that truly capture the spirit of Africa.

Kenya’s wildlife conservancies in the Maasai Mara now have the highest density of lions in Africa. A recent study confirmed that the conservancies are critical for the survival of wild lions as they ensure the preservation of natural habitat where lions are safe and protected. Guides and guests on a game-drive from Porini Rhino Camp in November 2019 were treated to this unusual spectacle of giraffes fighting. Renowned as “gentle giants”, giraffes are often docile and graceful, so it is fascinating to see this aggressive behaviour.

Further to the first specially-equipped photographic vehicle  we had at Porini Lion Camp. We are pleased to advise that our safari vehicles at the Porini Camps are customized for your photo safari; Pro photographers are encouraged to book a safari vehicle on an exclusive basis as often they may need to stay at a promising place longer or get out earlier and stay later since animals are active most at night and in the early morning hours

Maasai dancers from Porini Lion Camp in Kenya’s Olare Motorogi Conservancy perform a three part traditional dance ending with a jumping competition which determines who would get the most beautiful female in the village.

Porini Amboseli Camp is located within the exclusive Selenkay Conservancy, in the Amboseli eco-system, an important wildlife dispersal area and rangeland for wildlife moving out of Amboseli National park.

Porini Mara Camp has an idyllic location in the 18700 acre Ol Kinyei wildlife conservancy, one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in the Serengeti-Mara eco-system. The safari camp is less than 18 kms from the Masai Mara park boundary.

During a stay at Porini Camps, guests are treated to “sundowners” at a scenic point to observe the sunset. Afterwards, a night time game drive in the conservancy, when the predators are most active, is a real treat to guests of Porini Camps.

While on a Porini Lion Camp game drive, witness a chain of events not easily forgotten.  The events unfold as a pride of lions begins chasing cheetahs. As the lions enter into an area where there are jackal dens, the jackals try to chase the lions.  Right in the middle of all this, a hyena has attacked a wildebeest.  Now the lions take their attention off the noisy jackals and move in to claim the wildebeest.  Surrounded by hyenas, the lions take over the wildebeest as the sun begins to fade.  Another amazing day comes to a close while staying at Porini Camps!

As the world’s largest wildlife migration moves through Kenya, wildebeest face a gauntlet of predators as they frantically cross the Mara River.
