Wildlife numbers are extremely encouraging and the area allows NIGHT GAME DRIVES & ESCORTED WALKS in addition to the game drives in 4X4's.

The prices below include return charter flight based on a minimum of 2 people, transfers from the airstrip to the lodge, full board accommodation, as well as all activities and game drives, and upon welcome at the Lodge you will be able to tailor your activities during your stay, depending on your personal preferences.

The Lodge offers the following: Game drives in open 4x4 Toyota Landcruiser, escorted game walks in the hills behind the lodge, with views of the Loita Hills, the Nguruman escarpment and Lake Natron, with its pink rimmed shores and views of Ol Doinyo Lengai - the worlds only active Natro Carbonitite Volcano. Sundowners, game drives as well as NIGHT GAME DRIVES with a spotlight are also available.

The Lodge offers a Yoga room, swimming pool, boutique etc, and all the guest rooms and public areas are individually styled with open views across the plains and towards Lake Magadi and Shompole Mountain, in addition each guest room has its own private plunge pool so you can cool off during the heat of the day and enjoy the views in the privacy of your room.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Arrive Wilson airport mid morning and fly by private charter to Shompole Lodge - pick up from Airstrip and drive to Lodge [10 mins]. Decide on activities for the remainder of the day [game drives/escorted game walks/sun downer drinks]. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Lodge.

Day 2 Activities and game drives as per your program. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Breakfast and morning activities as per your program, then a mid morning transfer to the airstrip for your charter flight back to Wilson airport.

Location: South-western Kenya, on the Tanzanian border near soda Lakes Natron and Magadi. Located on the edge of the Nguruman Escarpment overlooking the Great Rift Valley. 120km south of Nairobi on a 35,000 acre Conservancy, surrounded by 140,000 acres of Shompole Group Ranch, which provides a dispersal area for wildlife and acts as a buffer zone.

The Shompole Group Ranch & Community: The camp is a joint-owned venture between a private safari company, Art of Ventures (AoV) and the members of the Maasai community of Shompole Group Ranch. Managed and marketed by AoV, the camp retains a high standard of service and quality. The community benefit from conservation fees and profit from their shares in the camp, and we hope that over time the community will become majority shareholders, while we continue to assist by contributing our expertise in management and marketing.

Climate: The camp is in an arid region. October and November tend to be the hottest times of the year while April and May are usually wet. Because it tends to be hot during the middle of the day, activities normally take place during the mornings and evenings, while the middle of the day is spent relaxing by the pool, or in the shade of the rooms and lodge.
