This
property is located on the Siana community conservation area of the Maasai Mara
in Kenya. It is an exclusively tented camp that offers privacy and personalized
services to guests. Leleshwa Camp perches along a stream valley amongst picturesque
hills and rolling plains that give its setting an authentic African experience.
Kerosene lanterns light the paths at night and guests are escorted by Maasai warriors.
ACOMMODATION
The
camp consists of six well-appointed, insect-proof bedroom tents. Each tent has
a large veranda with views overlooking the hills and plains. The en-suite bathrooms
are fitted with a flushing toilet and hot shower. All tents have battery powered
lighting.
During
meal times guests can dine in the spacious dining and lounge tents which have
large verandah’s to maximize views, breakfast and lunch is served in the
dining area or ‘al fresco’ under the shade of the trees, dinner is
served around a large dining table ‘dinner party style’. Private meals
can be arranged on the guest tent verandah or under the stars and a continental
style cuisine caters to a variety of dietary requirements. 240V charging facilities
are available in the lounge.
ACTIVITIES
Daily
activities available are personalized to guest requirements; day and night game
drives in specially built 4x4 safari vehicles with roof hatches, guided bush walks,
bush meals, sundowners, traditional Maasai village visits and local school visits,
hot air balloon rides are also available at a supplementary fee. Activities take
place on the Siana Community Conservation Area and in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve.
Maasai Mara’s Sekenani Gate (25 min) and Olelamutia Gate (40min) are within
comfortable game driving distance.
The
leleshwa camp is accessible by daily scheduled flights from Nairobi to the nearby
Siana springs airstrip (approx 20 minutess drive into the reserve) or the Keekorok
airstrip in the main reserve (approx 1 hr 30 minutes drive from the camp).
Leleshwa
camp is closed annually for the rainy seasons i.e between 1st to 31st May and
16th to 30th November.
