Mara Serena Lodge is an interpretation of a traditional Maasai Manyatta village architecture consisting of connected domed huts grouped in a circular manner. It is located on the saddle of a hill, overlooking the vast plains, forests and rivers that make up the Maasai Mara.
Mara Serena is the only lodge in the Maasai Mara triangle- one of the world's richest wildlife sanctuaries, as a result of this, the guests who enjoy their safari experience are normally assured a high degree of privacy.
No other lodge has such a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape or the game and bird life that inhabits it. It is this very terrain stretching endlessly before the lodge where the annual migration takes place, when millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle traverse the landscape to feed on the rich new grass and give birth to their young. This is a spectacle that should be witnessed at least once in a lifetime.
The lodge has 74 guest rooms, each room is inspired of traditional Maasai art and each one has a private balcony with views that stretch over the vast African landscape, the rooms are distanced apart so guests can enjoy uninterrupted views of the beautiful landscape. The main restaurant overlooks a waterhole where big game come to feed.
Besides promising game drives, you can enjoy various activities throughout the day, bush barbeques, evening cocktail parties by the waterhole, day game drives in open sided 4x4 safari vehicles, night game drives in open sided 4x4 safari vehicles which take place between 1900 hours and 2230 hours with specially trained guides and spotters, walking, culture photography, bird watching and day tours. Safaris by hot air balloon or plane are also offered, truly a breathtaking experience.
During the day you may chose to cool off by the swimming pool. The sky-blue swimming pool is perched on the edge of the hill and nearby are several treatment rooms where one can enjoy a range of relaxation massages.
In the evening guests can enjoy entertained by musicians, and traditional Maasai dancers, wildlife films and talks by a resident naturalist. Or relax at the full-service lounge and bar that serves a variety of different drinks.
