A 6 night / 7 day safari departing every Sunday, with a minimum of two people, visiting Selenkay Conservancy, Amboseli National Park, Lake Elementeita, Lake Nakuru, Ol Kinyei Conservancy and the Masai Mara.

Accommodation is at the award-winning Porini Camps and Sunbird Lodge. Scheduled departure (every Sunday from Nairobi), minimum 2 people. Flexible / private departures (other days) are available at a small supplement.


This 7 day safari combines:

2 nights at Porini Amboseli Camp with walks and night game drive, game drive in the Amboseli National Park for viewing elephants close up. In the Selenkay Conservancy, an exclusive wilderness area with no other tourist vehicles, a walk with Maasai warriors to visit an authentic village, and a night game drive. Game drives in 4x4 vehicle.

2 nights at Sunbird Lodge with walks along Lake Elementaita and a full day in Nakuru to see the flamingos and where there is also an excellent chance of seeing rhino and leopard.

2 nights at Porini Mara Camp visiting Ol Kinyei Conservancy: one of the most scenic parts of the Mara eco-system with resident big cats. With bush walks, a night drive and game drive in the Maasai Mara, famous for lions, cheetahs and leopards. Game drives in 4x4 vehicle.

All game drives are with experienced / registered driver-guides. Private vehicles are available at a supplement.

At Porini Camps all meals and drinks included as well as sundowners, shared night game drives and escorted walks. Drinks are not included at Sunbird Lodge and the bar bill is payable at check-out.

  • Lake Nakuru: spectacular scenery, excellent for rhino and leopard, unique views of flamingos on the alkaline lake
  • Ol Kinyei Conservancy: one of the most scenic parts of the Mara eco-system with resident big cats
  • Masai Mara: the most famous wildlife reserve in Kenya, excellent for lion and cheetah
  • At Porini Camps all meals and drinks included as well as sundowners, night game drives and escorted walks



6 nights / 7 days, Departures every Sunday

Day 1, Sunday

Morning transfer by minibus from Nairobi to Selenkay Conservancy arriving at Porini Amboseli Camp for lunch. (Optional flight direct to Selenkay available at a supplement in January to March and July to October). All the big cats have been seen in the Conservancy as well as elephants and a wide range of species including large numbers of giraffes, zebra and antelopes. There are also less common animals which may be seen such as the long-necked gerenuk gazelle, lesser kudu and African wildcat. In the afternoon you will go on a walk escorted by Maasai warriors to visit a nearby Maasai Village where you will get to know more about the way of life of the Maasai people before having a night game drive with a spotlight to seek out the nocturnal animals as you head back to camp in the dark. Dinner and overnight in Porini Amboseli Camp in Selenkay Conservancy.

Day 2, Monday

After an early breakfast drive into Amboseli National Park (10 miles from the Selenkay boundary) for a full morning game drive with picnic lunch. Return to camp in the afternoon and have evening sundowners and night game drive. Overnight  Porini Amboseli Camp.

Day 3, Tuesday

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for the early morning flight to Wilson Airport where you will be met by a qualified driver guide to continue (by safari minibus) through the Great Rift Valley to Sunbird Lodge on the shores of Lake Elementaita. Afternoon walk along the lake shore and overnight at  Sunbird Lodge.

Day 4, Wednesday

Spend a full day in Lake Nakuru National Park (with a picnic lunch) returning later in the evening for dinner and overnight at Sunbird Lodge.

Day 5, Thursday

After breakfast, check out and transfer by road to Ol Kinyei Conservancy, arriving for lunch at Porini Mara Camp where you stay for 2 nights. Afternoon game drive in the private Ol Kinyei Conservancy in the camp’s 4x4 safari vehicle with an evening sundowner at a scenic spot followed by a night game drive back to camp for dinner and overnight at Porini Mara Camp.

Day 6, Friday

*Optional Balloon Safari and Champagne Breakfast.

Spend a full day on a game drive with the Porini Mara Camp’s 4x4 safari vehicle in the Masai Mara Game Reserve with picnic lunch, returning to the camp in the evening. Overnight Porini Mara Camp.

Day 7, Saturday

Early morning game drive or escorted walk in Ol Kinyei Conservancy followed by breakfast. Transfer to the airstrip for the scheduled flight departing at 11h00 to arrive Wilson Airport at approximately 12h15. Met and transfer to the airport or to a Nairobi hotel (hotel not included but available at a supplement). Alternatively, extend your safari with optional Extra Nights at Porini Mara Camp.
