
Set on ten sprawling acres, Hogmead is located in the quiet suburbs of Nairobi. With quick access to Nairobi National Park and Wilson Airport, it makes for a convenient and pleasant transfer to both airports and the centre of town. Hogmead offers a retreat that is peaceful and relaxing, where cramped suburban life dissolves away. This intimate boutique hotel has been designed to balance an historical colonial past along with a very modern approach. It is perfectly positioned for an overnight stay before or after safari, as well as for business travel.
In their extensive gardens, you can see families of resident warthogs and an array of colourful birdlife, best watched from the comfort of the airy restaurant offering refreshment and exercise after a long flight, or a great safari.
Hogmead consists of six enormous rooms each with views out over the beautifully maintained gardens towards the famous Ngong Hills in the distance. The main house is composed of four spacious rooms upstairs with ensuite bath and shower, and two spacious downstairs ensuite rooms perfectly suited to those who would rather avoid stairs
The drawing room and garden rooms have open fireplaces and plenty of space to relax and unwind with your favorite cocktail from the well stocked bar. Each cottage is waited on by your very own butler to tend for your every need.All the bedrooms in both the main house and the cottages are equipped with Satellite TV, DVD, Wii and blackout curtains.
All food is freshly prepared in the extensive kitchen. Many of the ingredients are sourced as much as possible, from local produce and the kitchen garden as well as from local farms. Breakfasts of fresh fruit, cereals and a variety of cooked breakfasts; home-made buffet lunches, three course dinners in the outdoor dining room or under the stars. They cater for all food preferences and allergies.The large restaurant with two levels has a makuti roof and produces fine cuisine centered on fresh seafood flown in daily from the Lamu archipelago.
Water comes from a borehole. It is safe to shower and bathe in, Mineral water is provided in all rooms and on activities. In an effort to minimize plastic waste, they decant this mineral water from large re-cyclable containers. Bottled water is available on request.
