Mauritius was named after Prince Maurice Van Nassau, Stadhouder (Governor) of Holland, the pioneer of the spice trade in the Indian Ocean and to whom the hotel pays tribute. Le Prince Maurice opened its doors in the mid November 1998.

Le Prince Maurice is located on the north east coast of Mauritius. 15 minutes from the airport by helicopter and 35 km from the capital Port Louis. It is situated on 60 acres of unspoilt private land, sheltered from the prevailing winds and ensuring maximum privacy for its guests. Its tropical gardens consist of rare and luxuriant vegetation and the calm turquoise lagoon blends perfectly with the fresh green hinterland and the secluded beaches of brilliant white sand. A natural fish reserve situated on the western part of the hotel adds to the uniqueness and natural beauty of the location.

Accommodation

The hotel has got Junior Suites, Senior Suites, and a Princely Suite all located either along the beach, in a tropical garden facing the sea or on stilts overlooking the fish reserve.

Dining

L'Archipel Restaurant located in the main building overlooks the pool and the beach and set up across three areas, two of which are open-air deck areas.

Le Barachois Restaurant Located in a unique environment at a distance from our main building and surrounded by mangroves, this floating restaurant comprises five decks seating a maximum of 40 people. It overlooks a large natural fish reserve with an exceptional unspoiled view of a mountain range. The sunset from Le Barachois is breathtaking.

The Beach DeckThis restaurant of 40 place settings is situated on a wooden deck located near the beach. Le Beach Restaurant is open for lunch with an À la carte menu and special event evening.

Activities

Some of the free activities include, golf, windsurfing, snorkeling, glass boat excursions, water skiing, kayaking. Other Paying activities include: scuba diving, deep sea fishing, cruises and Spa and Beauty treatments.

Child Policy (3 – 12 years):

Children 03 – 11 years sharing with 2 adults, Maximum one child per Junior Suite & Two per Villa is 50% each of per person rates above.

Children under 18 years sharing in their own double or single Junior Suite is 60% each of per person rates above.

One Child above 12 years sharing with 2 adults in a Villa pays 70% of per person rates.

One child under 11 years sharing with one adult pays 70% and adult pays single suite or villa rates.

Children 00 – 02 years sharing with adults stay free of charge.

A la Carte Dinner Supplement (Optional) :

Per adult per night $90 & Per child under 12 years per night $45

(Not applicable on Xmas & New Year's Eve 2013/14)

Extra supplement applicable for lobster/caviar & special dinners such as candle light dinner e.t.c.

Christmas Supplement:

On 24th Dec 2013 clients will pay US $135 per adult per day & US $70 per child 7 – 12 years per day

On 31st Dec 2013 & 01st Jan 2014 clients will pay US $ 265 per adult per day & US $ 135 per child

Check-in: 14.00 hrs & Check-out: 12.00 hrs

Guaranteed early check–in (depending upon availability):

Suites & Villas - before 14.00 hrs: will be charged at 100% room rate of the previous night.

Guaranteed late check-out (depending upon availability):

a) Suites & Villas - before 18.00 hrs: (will be charged at 50% room rate of the following night and guests will be entitled to a light snack (excluding drinks)

b) Villas - before 18.00 hrs: will be charged at 100% villa rate of the following night and guests will be entitled to a 3 courses dinner (excluding drinks)
