Meru National Park

Offbeat Meru Camp is a 12 bedded luxury semi-permanent camp situated just outside the park in Bisanandi National Reserve, set above the pretty Bisanandi River. Meru National Park offers visitors a chance to visit one of Kenya's most magical parks away from the masses. The park has a wide variety of landscapes and is dominated by savannah, but includes riverine forest and swamps. The park is bisected by 13 rivers which flow towards the Tana river in the south and rise in the Nyambene Hills to the west.
The park has excellent game viewing opportunities which include Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Elephant, Black and White Rhino's, Eland, Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx, Grant's Gazelle, Grevy's Zebra, Lesser Kudu and Reticulated Giraffe aswell as over 280 species of birds. The camp will be hosted by Adrian Allen.

Accommodation

The camps itself comprises of six tents, three twins and three doubles. Each tent is furnished with a huge Iron bed, and has its own en-suite bathroom, with traditional bucket shower and flushing loo. In addition, there is 24 hour solar lighting in the tents, whilst the rest of the camp is lit by traditional tilly lamps. Informal dining is hosted in the mess tent or around the stunning swimming pool. There is also a spacious living room with comfortable sofas, a writing table and fully stocked bar.

Activities

Day and evening game drives in fully equipped custom-designed Landrover's/Landcruisers.

Rates Include
Full board luxury accommodation, all game drives and walks, house-wines, spirits, beer and soft drinks and laundry. Not included Champagne and tips.

Access
Scheduled Air Kenya flights to and from Nairobi. Daily Tropic Air flights to Laikipia and the Mara. Plus private air charters. 5 hours driver from Nairobi.

Seasons
The camp will be open for two distinct periods. It will open in Mid-December through to the end of March. We will close for the rains and re-open on 1st June until end of October. The climate is hot with low humidity.
