Located about two and a half hours’ drive north-east of Kigali, Akagera Game Lodge is within the boundaries of Akagera National Park in Rwanda’s Eastern Province. The lodge has an attractive setting on a ridge with views over Lake Ihema. Akagera Game Lodge has double and single rooms, Executive Suites and (for larger groups) charming individual cottages with patios looking out over Lake Ihema. All rooms are decorated in a pan-African theme and feature an en suite bathroom and a satellite television. Room service is available.
Facilities:
The Shoebill Restaurant at Akagera Game Lodge serves a buffet breakfast and lunch and dinner is buffet or a la carte. The Chef prepares an assortment of tasty international-style dishes as well as regional specialities.
The adjoining Elephant Bar & Lounge serves beverages and snacks and provides an ideal retreat at which to unwind with a beer or cocktail after a long day’s safari. From here you can step out onto the terrace which has a lovely view across the swimming pool and beyond to Lake Ihema.
There is a pool-side snack bar and a towel service and on-site tennis court.
