Ngorongoro Serena’s beauty comes from the way in which the lodge was designed. Built from local material called river stone, the lodge is narrow and set low and is enveloped by green lush vines to give it a feel of partial invisibility especially when right down in the Crater.
The décor is borrowed from the pre-historic era to emulate the caves of those days. Big arched passages made of stone are filled with ancient paintings that have been carved.
Burning torches light the way that throw a soft glow to the interiors if the lodge where an ever-burning fire is found within the lodges centre.
As the lodge is built on the crater-rim, each room offers marvelous views of the crater and guests can enjoy the views from the rock balconies. The rooms are also decorated with olden style carvings/paintings as well as a few Masaai carvings. All the rooms provide guests with mineral water, bathroom toiletries, telephone and WIFI access and a safe.
Activities at the hotel are numerous. Enjoy the surroundings from the viewing terrace, embark on gamedrives from the hotel into the Crater while for the adventurous ones, you can indulge in sporting activities. You can also enjoy sundowners and that too on the Crater rim.
We are also happy to organize picnic lunches and breakfasts as well as guided nature tours with your Masaai guide around the Crater. You can also enjoy Masaai dance performances as well as a visit to a Masaai village or a cattle Bazaar.
For those on business, we have a fully fledged conference centre “under Canvas” which can also be used as for events. Stylishly decorated, this conference facility comes equipped with all that one may need for a conference yet creating an aura of being on Safari under the tents.
