Lemala Camp

If you want a camp under Canvas, then Lemala Ngorongoro is the perfect place for you. Situated very close to the Crater, this seasonal camp is set under a forest of beautiful Acacia trees. It offers 8 luxury tents and 1 family tent which is well equipped with a gas heater, large single or king-size beds, wooden floors with rugs to match, 24-hour solar lighting, en-suite bathrooms with a dressing area, flush toilets and a comfortable safari shower. All house drinks and laundry are included.

ACCOMMODATION

Open all year round except the months of April & May, the main mess tent is tastefully furnished with plush sofas, romantic lamps, book shelves and big wooden chests. At the end of the day, guests gather around the campfire and enjoy sundowners before dining under sparkling Chandeliers. The local Masaai communities also share with you their culture in form of folk dances and insights into their life & tradition.

ACTIVITIES

Due to its location, guests are able to access the crater almost immediately where the scenery will take your breath away as you watch the mesmerizing sunrise. This means that our guests can enjoy the best quality gamedrives and game viewing without having to travel far to get to the Crater. Lemala is also very close to the Ol Moti and Empakai Craters which add some beautiful landscapes and scenery. Guests can enjoy walks from camp into the forests and along the rim of the Crater after which we will serve hot lunches or breakfasts in the crater with the Masaai (on request).

Lemala Camp also works hand in hand with the local Masaai Community. The Masaai will gladly share their life, culture, traditions, dances and ceremonies with guests who enjoy the interaction with them.

The seasonal camp gives our guests a chance to experience splendid wilderness, unique birds and breathtaking forest scenery.
