About Us - Safari Consultants

Gamewatchers Safaris has been in business for over 20 years. Situated on United Nations Crescent in Nairobi our office's neighbouring shopping complex could not be in greater contrast to the wild surroundings at the safari bases we offer to clients wishing to get in touch with raw Africa, bases which are far removed from the mass-market tourist lodges offered elsewhere on the continent.

From the outset you can be reassured that your time at the parks will be maximised as you will access the conservancies by air from Nairobi's Wilson's Airport on Safarilink airways.

Our friendly and experienced Safari Consultants - Maurice, Samson, Tasnim, Jagdeep, Dorothy, Wycliffe, Evelyne, Florence, Ashina and Paul - will be delighted to help and advise you in planning your safari tour and will make all the arrangements for your chosen itinerary.

On arrival in Kenya, our Customer Services Manager, Ibrahim Nganga and his team - Vincent, Dennis, Angela, Clarice, Zuhura, Kioko, Tony, Gideon and Ben will be on hand to ensure your safari tour arrangements are taken care of and will run smoothly, from meeting you at the airport to looking after your transfers between your Nairobi hotel and the different wildlife parks and reserves or visits to the coast.

Our business credentials are anchored in the local community. Our Commercial Director Mohanjeet Brar is a 4th generation Kenyan who grew up in the forests of the Kenyan highlands with strong ties to the local community. With his Doctorate degree in Plant Science from the US he is also a member of KPSGA (the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association) and is a fully certified safari guide serving as a member on the Board of Directors of Ecotourism Kenya and ATTA (Advancing Tourism to Africa) You can email Mohanjeet direct at mohanjeet@gamewatchers.co.ke

The History

Gamewatchers Safaris was established in 1989 by Managing Director, Jake Grieves-Cook, who has been involved in Kenya's tourism industry for over 35 years.

Jake is a passionate advocate of Ecotourism - evidenced by his having been Chair of the Ecotourism Society of Kenya (ESOK), being a board member of the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), as well as having been a one time Chair of the Kenya Tourism Federation (KTF), a committed trustee of the EU/ Kenya Government Tourism Trust Fund (TTF), and an active member of the East African Wildlife Society and Chair of the Kenya Tourist Board (KTB). His involvement with our three wildlife conservation projects with Maasai communities at Amboseli and the Mara has been ground-breaking and always completely hands-on.

Jake is always happy to hear from clients who need advice in planning a wildlife safari to Kenya. You can email Jake direct, at the following address, for any help in planning your safari tour:jake@porini.com
